Do you have what it takes to make it off the island?

"If you can find a path with no obstacles, it probably doesn’t lead anywhere!"

Following the success of Bear’s TV show, The Island, adventurers can now test themselves with their own 30-hour ‘island drop’ in the remote Scottish Highlands. In this intense five-day survival skills course, which follows the same format as the show, participants receive a crash course in Bear’s extreme survival techniques for the first few days… and then test those skills to the limit to make their way back to civilisation.

Starting at our base camp in the heart of the Highlands, you’ll be coached by instructors who have been hand-picked and trained by Bear. You’ll learn the priorities of survival to keep you alive, taught mountaineering skills to traverse, climb and descend mountainous terrain before crossing extreme ground using ropes. Finally, it’s time for the final exercise – you’ll be dropped off by our fast Rib to the shores of a remote island! Climb, swim, wade, jump and crawl to safety! It’ll take all your energy, courage and determination to make it back to civilisation.

These are just some of the many skills you will gain during 'Survival in the Highlands'

Alladale Wilderness Reserve, Scottish Highlands

Situated in the heart of the rugged highlands, the Alladale reserve is a privately owned estate, managed to restore the territory to its natural state through the reintroduction of tree cover and wildlife, and the encouragement of biodiversity. It’s a tough, diverse location with rolling mountains and glens, and super rugged terrain. The weather is as varied as the landscape, and experiencing four seasons in one day is common – the perfect way to prepare for a survival scenario.

These items will all help you to survive! Please note, all of the clothing and equipment that you bring must be appropriate to the environment and the time of year. This is just a guide and you may not require all the kit. Your instructors will let you know what to take out into the wilderness on arrival-any extra kit can be secured at base camp.

…and don't forget a bag full of positive attitude!

I didn't really know what to expect from the course but even what I got was a shock to the system. This course is full on, with the most professional instructing team I have ever come across. Get your boots on tight because it's an absolute whirlwind!
